2012 is here. I know that technically you're not supposed to start a sentence with a number, but I'm not fussy because this is my space where I can let loose and live a little. Back to 2012. Here in Kenya, it's already turning out to be a headline-worthy year. The Ocampo 4 have been named, our finance minister has just resigned and we're due to have our general elections at some point (if you're from here, you understand what I mean). Further afield the US Republicans will be choosing their candidate and the nation as a whole will be choosing whether Obama stays on or gets shown door out of the White House. And in between all that attention-grabbing drama, I'll be turning 30. That's precisely what this blog is about.

As I head toward the decade that will set the pace for the rest of my life, I'm on a mission to be prepared for the journey that will be my 30s.  With seven months left to go, I want 30 to find me physically, mentally, spiritually and fabulously stronger. Join me for the highs and not-so-highs that are bound to become part of the experience.

Here's to my Project 30.

Until next time...
